6th Grade Choir
Our fifth grade choir this year is full of a TON of energetic and enthusiastic young singers! We will be performing in unison and two-part harmony as well as spending time on some fundamental musical concepts.
This group of novice singers will be working in unison and two-part harmony as they begin learning the basics of solfege, sight-reading, and the fundamentals of music and performance. They will be tackling more challenging music than they saw in their fifth grade choral experience and learning how to analyze it with the eye of a musician.

High School Choir
This intermediate group of young singers will be performing in three-part harmony, learning solfege and basic music theory, and even dabbling in composition. They will continue practice in sight-reading, proper vocal technique, and listening skills - applying what they learn to each performance to make themselves active, attentive musicians.
This higher-level choir is a small ensemble that will be performing an array of different musical styles - from classical to contemporary - and will be performing several selections acapella. In addition, each student will be given voice lessons and an individual piece of music to study and and learn to perform throughout the semester.
Required Materials: All 6-12 music students are required to have a notebook, folder, and two pencils. The notebook cannot be shared with any other class unless it is with another music class (such as if they are in both choir and band), as it will be periodically collected. They are responsible for remembering to bring their materials to class each day and copying any notes or assignments into their notebook in the event they forget.
